My Father’s Bones
A couple of weeks ago, Lea Thau, founder and producer of the KCRW radio storytelling show “Strangers” interviewed me. It was a remarkable experience, and I enjoyed talking with her. She’s really great at her job.
The story she crafted from our conversations is part of what I’ve been writing about in my memoir about my life with my father. Thank you for listening!
(The photo above of my father and me is dated November 1970, which would make me about a year and a half, and him possibly 30 years old. But I never really knew how old he was.)

May 3, 2017Susan,
I just listened to your interview with Lea Thau about your father. I was deeply moved, repeatedly finding myself overwhelmed with emotion. Thank you for sharing this story. I have a close friend who has a similar relationship with her father and I have no doubt that your story will resonate with her as well.
Sincerely,
Morgan

July 29, 2017What an amazing story, and so thought provoking. I was very moved by your love for your father, with all of his genius, and at the same time, frailty. He obviously loved you very much.
