Mac lovin’

I’m working on a Mac for the first time since about 1994.  In those days, I got the college special, a giant cube with a keyboard purchased at the start of the school year.  The ultimate in school supplies, the computer was supposed to make my senior thesis easier to write.  It would allow me to write in the middle of the night in my pajamas without going to the campus computer lab with a blank floppy disk.  In reality, I played a lot of Tetris and wrote my thesis in a frenzied few days.

My shiny new Mac is inspiring in a whole new way.  Unlike my senior year in college, I don’t have a deadline that the computer is supposed to meet for me.  It’s just nice to have a beautiful new tool to write with.  But I wonder if I’ll ever feel at home in the Mac paradigm.
