Susan Sheu writes in a way that draws the reader in as few others can do.  Her candor on such personal issues makes one feel somehow ‘safe’ and ‘at home’ when reading her work.  But perhaps ‘work’ is not the correct word.  While work indeed it is, the fluidity of her writing, her ability to unfold a story, and her natural way of  bringing the reader in close, makes such work feel effortless.
